Brainpop is an international company of educational digital content, sharing many educational resources through animated content. Using the language of animation, we explain abstract concepts and complex phenomena simply, in a way that piques children’s curiosity, and makes learning a fun experience. Brainpop content is intended for use both in the education system and at home for enrichment and review. The site’s content is developed by scientists, educators and content experts, and all of the content undergoes a rigorous pedagogical examination, and is adapted to Israeli curricula. The site is free of advertisements and marketing content, and provides a safe browsing environment for children.
From a Jewish education standpoint, the main feature of Brainpop is that it supports Hebrew learning with a variety of Hebrew language instructional videos as well as high interest, well presented material for advanced Hebrew learning. It does include some Jewish studies material, primarily related to Israel studies and Tanach stories. The Jewish educational materials can be found in the “חברה ותרבות” and the “מולדת וגיאוגרפיה” sections. For example, look up some Egyptian resources for the book of Shmot and the Ten Plagues here.
